Party Ideas: Strawberry Shortcake Themed Birthday and DIY Lemonade Stand

Back again with another wonderful first birthday party theme with Strawberry Shortcakes and a wonderful handmade lemonade stand. The party has a wonderful spring/summer feel with fresh lemonade and luscious fruits...

Strawberry Shortcakes first birthday cake
looks almost too good to eat!

Sweets/candy buffet complete with green, red, white and pink coloured treats
including cake pops and strawberries and cream lollies and more.
Handmade strawberry cookies.

Tip: If you don't have a strawberry shaped cookie cutter,

use an oval and a star and put them together for the perfect shape!

Jelly cups with Strawberry Shortcake scoops.
Feast your eyes on these mini burgers/ beef sliders with cheese
and mustard, diced pickles and tomato sauce - delicious!

Also on the menu, mini hotdogs with lashings of tomato
sauce and American mustard.

Bright summer fruits in fruit cups.
The birthday girl had her own lemonade stand.
Make your own lemonade stand with an old study desk, covered with wooden pallet strips or fencing strips with several coats of yellow and white paint.
The bunting was created with a mixture of hand-chosen pretty scrapbooking paper to complement the party theme and threaded with pink ribbon - easy, gorgeous and effective!

The hostess Alexia served up the lemonade in glass bottles wrapped in gorgeous ribbons, complete with purple straws - all the burgers can make party guests thirsty!

Her headband is handmade in perfectly co-ordinated Strawberry Shortcake coloured ribbon, a bright green, pink with white polka dots and a button in the middle to go with her Strawberry Shortcakes top and pink fluffy tutu!

The top was made with an iron-on transfer purchased from eBay on a classic white top - simple and sweet! The great thing about this technique is that you can cutomise your own outfit without buying some of the ready made licensed merchandised clothing in kids stores that can get a bit tacky and over the top.

Hope you enjoyed these ideas - stay tuned for more!
